I say Nay Nay...

To find out more about the Give away-a-rama go here.

I've been doing a lot of talk about dieting lately. I would like to lose 30 lbs by April. I know that I can do this!! My only problem is that I love food, and hate exercise.
I have a couple of things to tell you before you watch this video that is SO funny that I about wet my pants...which would have been very embarrassing!!
1-My first date was with a "Hey! Kool-Aid!" guy...you know, he was in the kool-aid commercial and got to summon the beast that would come crashing through the walls of the house.
2-I don't do ups either. I can do tons of Push downs though!
Watch John Pinnett and laugh now....

Do you think the Kool-Aid guy asked me out because my head was as big as the Kool-Aid pitcher??
Don't answer that!

Lola I am going to cry (not because of this post but because of yesterdays post I love the Lynsey Bag how come I dont own one? and I got on the Wii last week and it told me that my body mass is excessive for my height (pretty much told me to get my fat A off of the balance board) I need to loose 33 lbs to get back to a normal weight for my height. Sad
I guess thats better than 100 lbs to loose huh! K bye

Loved it - and he's totally right, exercise is not addictive. I wish, but it's not gonna happen.

Oh my goodness, where do you find these videos? That was so darn funny! Now I'm going to have "Oh nay nay" and "I don't do ups!" stuck in my head.

Thanks for that!

Honestly, I didn't love exercise either for a long time, but I have to say that I sometimes look forward to it now. But I had to start small with pilates at home--because it looked fun. Then dance/aerobics classes at the gym, because they looked fun. Now I'm training for a 5K because it sounded like fun--not quite so much fun WHILE I'm running, but a lot of fun to tell people about it and have them think I'm cool.

See, the motivation for me is purely selfish--fun or praise! :-P Anyway, what worked for me was to start small and keep going!

I am sure glad to know I am obeying the law!! He looks good for losing 100 lbs, too, doncha think? I'm glad to know, though, that the days of "grab and move" might not be over. "YOU GO NOW!" haha.

THAT was hilarious! I guess the 15 I put on over the past year isn't so bad after all. I'm hoping my addicting to exercising becomes a reality. . .but I'm guessing the double choc brownies I made tonight are gonna call me & pretty much negate any treadmill time I've had this week. . .Oh well! Lunch pretty much went through me anyway so it's a wash!

I hear ya! But I too love to eat and despise exercise. I try to be good, but food calls to me. Those people who say they feel so exhilarated when they exercise are just plain sick! Sick, I say!

Dieting tips :
Your brain frequently asks your stomach and liver how they are. If you haven't eaten in a while, your stomach says "actually, I'm a bit hungry and I haven't had anything nutritious in ages" and your liver says "hmmm, I'm a bit dehydrated" so your brain says "okay, think I'll hang onto this fat for survival then".
SO.
Eat regularly - something every hour (that doesn't mean burgers, sweets, chips and stuff!) and drink loads of water so the next time your brain asks, your stomach says "actually, I'm fine" and your liver says "no problems here" so your brain says "okey-dokey I shall get rid of some of this fat then".
Drinking ice-cold water takes more calories to digest than warmer fluids.
Eat a piece of fruit about half an hour before a meal - it fills you up so you don't need as much of your meal.
There you go.
That's what I learned when I attended a diet-club.
For 2 weeks.

I am in the process of losing. I am down 25 with 15 to go. Basically I stay away from sugar and ANYTHING with high fructose corn syrup - that stuff is nasty just google it and see for yourself. I do very little bread and if I do it is whole grain. I am somewhere between South Beach and Atkins. I limit carbs and processed food. It works for me..oh I do not exercise and still lost =)

I am with you trying to lose 30 pounds. Why is it so easy to gain and so hard to lose? I guess my treadmill and I need to be friends again. I wish I loved exercising as much as I love sewing.

LAUGHING OUT LOUD!

I start a new diet every Monday. My husband and I have a name for these diets:

Diet 2008 v.1 usually starts on January 2nd.

Diet 2008 v.1.2. usually starts on January 3rd.

We are now on about Diet 2008 v.32.4 or something like that. We have lost track!

It's only slightly addictive when you are in shape. I don't really remember what that felt like. so yep, I go to be healther and happier. Thanks for the laugh.. so funny!

Thanks for the laugh. I too need a diet but don't know how much I need to lose. I suspect it is a lot but the batteries have worn out on my bathroom scale and for some reason I can never remember to put batteries on my shopping list.

I laughed so hard, and then went to work out. AHH.

This too cracked me up. My boys watched and laughed with me. My seven year old said later, "oh, I get it, I don't do ups!" I cracked up again. Lola my friend... you brighten my day!!! I hope I get to win a bag!
