When it rains.....it

.....melts several feet of snow pack very quickly,

and floods everyone's basements!

My sewing room is trashed. We tore the carpet up in one room.

Dh and his Dad are sledge hammering (10:28 pm) our basement landing. Trying to put in a sump pump. We've got to get ahead of the water.

My sister, and my parents houses are flooding too.

But....it could be worse. Having a flood the day after you lose someone makes the flood seem very small. We're all still here, and we have each other!

Thanks for all of you thoughts, prayers, and expressions of sympathy. Matt's death was a shock to us all. He was 35, and only found out that he had cancer 3 weeks ago. We knew that it was possible, but not so soon.

I will try to love every day I have, because you never know how many you have left.

Jan, if you need any help, let us know! We haven't flooded, although our parking lot is quite full of puddles. I'm sorry you guys have had to rip carpet up...AGAIN. That totally sucks! Good luck to the men putting that sump pump in tonight! Yikes! But seriously, call us if you need anything.

Lola....my heart hurts for you. Both for your cousin and for your basement. I am so sorry that this is happening to y'all.

It is hard for me to imagine...we have not had ANY moisture in over 6 months.

You are in our prayers girl.

Oh my gosh. Well, it's nice to have perspective. But it would be even nicer not to have to pull up the carpets. Sigh.
