The Shopping Game

I have a game that I like to play. It is like a video game, st least to me. I like to find things that I want to buy online, add them to my cart, and never buy them. I guess it could be called, "Virtual Shopping".

Last week I was Virtual Shopping at some different fabric stores online. I got to the checkout point.......and I bought them!!! Don't tell Huzz! He would have a fit! I am supposed to be on a shopping hiatus--after the Christmas frenzy.

I got the fabrics today, all Amy Butler's, and a pattern for the Sophie Carry-all (not to be confused with the Kitty carry-all doll from The Brady Bunch). When I opened the package I think I heard angels singing. It was neatly wrapped in tissue paper and tied with cotton string. The invoice was folded there with a personal message, hand written on it, thanking me for my purchase, and wishing me "Happy Creating".

It has been such a long time since I have been able to buy any real fabric. (I've been trying to use my stash.) I stared at it, and I almost started crying! Pathetic??? Yes!! But, I am a true lover of fabric. I love the way it looks. I love the way good fabric feels. My favorite, however, is how it smells when you iron it! (Kind of creepy--huh!)

I was lucky to find these other 2 fabrics at Joanns. I'm going to make a runner for my kitchen table out of them. They are both Alexander Henry prints.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gertie, my almost 13 year old, had a Birthday party to go to last night. I decided to make this cute bag I had seen somewhere......wish I could remember where...out of Jeans. I took a pair of Tally's little corduroy pants, cut off the legs, and made this cutie bag!

I even lined it!! We filled it with "teen-ish" girly stuff. I think it turned out pretty well. Gert is bugging me to make her one now!

Well, I guess it's back to staring at my new fabrics, and thinking of all of the things I could do with them........but, not doing anything yet.........not yet!

The purse turned out way cute. I love fabric too. I could spend hours in a fabric store, almost as much time as I'd spend in a bookstore.
