Religious Content

It's time for another installment of

Religious Content.

Again, for those of you that are offended by this kind of talk, please feel free to leave now and come back tomorrow.

The question to be answered this time is;

"I am told Mormons are not allowed to use contraceptives. Is this true? I have a client that claims to be a Mormon, although he only has one wife, he has many children. In fact, his wive seems to be pregnant all the time!"

This answer was found on The Church's official Website-

"Children are one of the greatest blessings in life, and their birth into loving and nurturing families is central to God’s purposes for humanity. When husband and wife are physically able, they have the privilege and responsibility to bring children into the world and to nurture them. The decision of how many children to have and when to have them is a private matter for the husband and wife."

I guess there isn't any need to elaborate on that explanation.

We have 6 kids. We choose to have 5 of them and were surprised blessed with the 6th! The reason why Jeff and I have so many kids is because we wanted them. We both come from big families. We still live very close to our extended families (within 5-10 minutes). We are always together.

We believe that The Family is the center of our lives, and the center of our Heavenly Fathers plan for our happiness.

If you have any other questions about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, feel free to ask me. You can also have any question answered at Mormon.org, or Lds.org

Thanks for answering my question! I always wondered about his statement...Maybe he was only joking and I believed him in my ignorance! Interesting to learn about the Mormon religion. I must pay a visit to the site you mentioned to learn more. Have a great week!

HI Lola,
Thank you for explaining that. I don't personally know many Mormons. We used to get visits in Tennant Creek (of all places!) when they were on, is it called mission?
I found the people who called very friendly and respectful and easy to send away (blush) unlike other groups.
Cheers
Tracy

I'm the fifth (and last) child in my family and I always (teasing) said I was probably an accident. My mom said "You were all accidents!" meaning that they just took what God sent them . . .
