Day at the Park

The weather was perfect this morning as we headed for the park by the pond. This is the city in our little town, and today we were the only ones there at 9:00 am.

The old pavillion has a fireplace at the back, and the walls are made of old stone.
There is a wet land park/outdoor classroom, next to the main park, that we headed for first. It is full of bull frogs and ducks.
The kids spotted a mama duck and her 6 ducklings. They said that it was us...and then they tried to decide which duckling was whom. "The duck that keeps heading off on his own is Tater. Look! The Mom has to keep squacking at him to get back with the group!"
This picture has the "Daddy" duck in it too.

Of course, the next hour was spent on the playground....doing dangerous things on the "tricky bars"....making your Mother have chest pains watching. Luckily, there were no serious injuries!

All 6 of the kids were there, but I only managed to get embarrassing pictures of the older 2. They would probably hurt me if I posted pics of them in the swings, on their stomach, spinning in circles. The photos were NOT flattering!

Wednesday I will have 8-10 kids at my house all day!! We have some of the cousins coming over. We have big plans, and hope that the weather will hold out for us! Wish me luck!

Can I say homesick for the pond? I think you were so smart to go there at 9:00 am because it gets so crowded these days.

that park is beautiful! how i wish that we had something beautiful like that by us-we don't. We do have some nice parks-we can consider it nice cause it has full grown tree-but none of the beauty that your gorgeous place has. No fair-I WANT A POND! Looks like a fun day and a day that made all the children tired! That my dear, the best part-admit it!

What a pretty place to be able to go to. Good luck with all the kiddos - I don't know how you do it!

I remember my pond days. Climbing on that very pavillion. And of coarse playing in that little stream that runs down from the top of the knoll. Happy memories.
